Birairy joined I&D in 2001 as Partner and Head of the litigation department and in 2008 started managing the legal quality assurance.
He is Professor and Head of the Commercial and Maritime Law Department, Faculty of Law, in Cairo University. Birairy is a prominent author of numerous books on the Commercial Code (which he assisted in drafting).
Birairy obtained his Bachelor of Law, 1962 from Cairo University Law School and PHD in 1976.
He has had a number of leading professional roles in different companies since his graduation year including being the Director, International Business Law Institution (Directeur de L'institut de Droit International des Affaires), 1995-1997 and Dean of Law and Sharea College Sultanate of Oman, 1997-1999.
